Dr Brendan Dias is a Melbourne trained Urological surgeon committed to the delivery of evidence based and patient centric urological care.
Dr Dias is one of the few Urologists who holds specialist qualifications in Urology from three different countries. He holds the diploma of the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Urology. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England (FRCS) in Urology and holds a doctorate of the National Board (DrNB) in Urology from New Delhi, India.
After graduating from medical school, Dr Dias completed a rigorous residency training programme in General Surgery, Urology and Renal Transplantation. Following completion of this training, he completed an advanced Robotic Fellowship at the OLV Hospital in Aalst, Belgium under the mentorship of Professor Alexandre Mottrie, a world renowned robotic Uro-Oncologist.
Dr. Dias moved to Australia and undertook further fellowship training at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Western Health, Melbourne in Renal transplantation, advanced laparoscopic Uro-Oncology, and EndoUrology.
Dr Dias has been providing Urological services through his public appointment at Western Health. He has pioneered the development and implementation of Day Case surgery for benign prostatic enlargement (HoLEP) and is one of the few surgeons in Melbourne offering this treatment both to public and private patients.
