Thomas completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy training, with distinction, at the University of Melbourne in 2018. He has gained a wealth of experience working both in private practice and with various sporting clubs before joining the Alphington Sports Medicine team in 2023.
Heralding from Canada, Thomas has a passion for all sports and believes in an active approach to both rehabilitation and injury prevention-based physiotherapy. Although traditionally drawn to the quintessential ‘North American’ sports of baseball, ice hockey and American Football, over his time in Australia he has built a strong passion for Australian Rules and, in addition to his clinical role, Thomas has served as physiotherapist for various sporting clubs at both local and State League level. This includes 3 years as a Physiotherapist for the AFL State League Umpires and most recently with the Western Jets of the Coates Talent League.
Thomas has completed advanced training in hip, groin and shoulder-related sporting injuries and has additional training in dry needling. Additionally, Thomas remains committed to clinical excellence, currently undertaking his Masters in Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy with La Trobe University.
Outside of work, Thomas enjoys running around with his playful Golden Retriever Sherlock, attending Carlton home games with his fiancé, improving his golf game, and researching in-depth stats to help win his next Fantasy Football title.
