I became shortsighted around the age of 11 and realised in high school that I was much better at maths and science than at humanities. Like a lot of optometrists, I was having my eyes examined one day and had the flash of inspiration that this was something I could do. I really enjoy looking after my patients and know with certainty after 40 years of practice that I made the right decision.
Outside my practice, I've tried almost everything creative over the years, but have really found my passion weaving. I completed a 2 year weaving course in 2006 and have been developing my skills ever since. I even sell my handwoven glasses cases in the practice!
