Elizabeth has been working as an optometrist for over 30 years and has a special interest in eye diseases, contact lenses, indigenous eye health and children's vision. She worked in Papua New Guinea for 3 years teaching nurses and working with ophthalmologists, in association with Christian Blind Mission International and the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. Elizabeth also conducted a diabetic and school eye screening program on Bathurst Island for 3 months, working with the Tiwi people.
