Dr Kohan has been practicing as a consultant neurosurgeon and spine surgeon since 2009, specializing in brain and spine condition.
Dr Kohan graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1998, and completed his neurosurgical training in Sydney and Melbourne in 2007.
After completing his internship and one year of residency in Sydney, he started his training in neurosurgery. He has worked with some of the most respected neurosurgeons and spine surgeons in Sydney and Melbourne as well as spending a year at St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney undertaking a spinal surgery fellowship program. He regularly attends local and overseas training seminars on the latest management of brain conditions in adults and children, and complex spine pathologies.
His experience in brain tumour surgery was enhanced following completion of his formal training in neurosurgery, undertaking fellowship in paediatric neurosurgery with Prof. Memet Ozek (former president of European Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery), where he gained in depth knowledge and skills in the management of brain stem tumours, congenital spinal malformations, brain and neuro-endoscopy (keyhole brain surgery).
