Dr Barry Venter

Dr Barry Venter graduated at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1987. Dr Venter has been working in general practice, and many years in rural communities have afforded him a unique opportunity to become experienced in advanced care including interventional obstetrics, surgery and managing high risk patients. This has provided a great foundation for the development of Dr Venter’s surgical skills. Prior to moving to Australia Dr Venter worked in rural South Africa, England and Canada. Since moving to Australia in 2008 Dr Venter has pursued specialised care and focuses on skin cancer medicine and surgery. Dr Venter has practiced at Shoal Bay Medical Centre & Skin Cancer Clinic and Charlestown Medical & Dental Clinic as a GP and skin cancer doctor. Dr Venter has completed a Masters degree in Skin Cancer Medicine through the University of Queensland. Dr Venter is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), a member of the Medical College of Canada (LMCC) and a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
