Dr Imogen Bessell is a passionate and caring dentist who graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Dental Health Science and a Masters-level degree in Dentistry. Throughout her studies, Dr Bessell has had the opportunity to work in a range of clinical settings, caring for patients from Bendigo to Mildura. Dr Bessell is known for her caring and gentle nature which translates into her work, where she places emphasis on dentistry delivered with a gentle approach to ensure her patients remain comfortable to work towards their oral health care goals together. Dr Bessell is passionate about providing ethical and comprehensive care, with particular interests in restorative and aesthetic dentistry in both children and adults alike. She greatly enjoys being able to place patients at ease, especially those who are particularly nervous at first. Dr Bessell strives to ensure her patients achieve their ideal treatment outcomes by remaining at the forefront of dentistry through regular continuing professional development. She is currently an active member serving on the Australian Dental Association Victorian Board Recent Graduates and Students Committee. Outside of her wonderful profession, she enjoys an active lifestyle filled with tennis, soaking up the sun at the beach, and trying new restaurants. As a big foodie, restaurant recommendations are most welcome!

Originally, Mohammed completed a Bachelor of Nursing at tertiary level later moving forth to obtain a Diploma in Oral Health Therapy from the University of Melbourne. Drawing on years of clinical experience and insight, Mohammed is fully adept at providing clientele with a plethora of diverse dental treatments ranging from routine checks to treatment of gum disease. He is a reputable Coburg hygienist with a long-standing affiliation with the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia. Mohammed’s unwavering devotion to participation and completion of continuing professional education in the UAE, USA and Indonesia has enabled him to stay on the precipice of dental breakthrough and discovery.

Vicky received a Diploma of Oral Health Therapy from the University of Melbourne. Graduating in 2002, she was awarded the Dental Practice Board of Victoria Prize alongside the Dental Hygienists Association Award for ‘Best Clinical Skills’. As an integral part of Coburg Dental Group since 2003, Vicky specializes in orthodontic-related procedures whilst providing assistance to patients suffering from tongue and tie conditions. She is a highly passionate Coburg hygienist with an unconditional drive to pursue ongoing professional education. Recently, Vicky completed additional training in Orofacial Myology.

Dr Christina Jovanovic obtained a Masters-level Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne. She also holds a Bachelor of Medical Science. In order to craft a robust set of skills, Christina worked as a dental resident at the emergency department of the Monash Medical Centre, treating medically compromised individuals and administering emergency care. She further practiced alongside specialists in the field of dentistry and medicine, amassing invaluable knowledge in the management of trauma, treatment planning, and dealing with anomalies in adults and children. Her expertise as a 9-year-long practicing dentist in Coburg lies in endodontics, oral surgery, and paediatrics. Dr Jovanovic is a member of the Australian Dental Association and serves on the Continuing Professional Development Committee.

Marcia is our Oral Health Therapist who graduated from The University of Melbourne. She is known among our patients for being very gentle, bright, and caring. Patients love her positivity and patience, creating a relaxing atmosphere in the dental chair - especially to patients who tend to get nervous. Marcia enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with special interests in periodontics (gum and bone health) as well as aesthetics dentistry. She continuously keeps her dental knowledge and technology up to date by attending conferences and courses, ensuring to provide all her patients with the best treatment and care. In her spare time, Marcia loves baking, painting, and practicing Pilates. She believes Pilates helps her to stay fit and healthy. Marcia is originally from Indonesia, growing up right here in Australia.

Dr. Brandon Lim earned his Master of Dentistry degree from La Trobe University. He then gained valuable experience working as part of the dental teams at The Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. Brandon is committed to providing exceptional care to his patients and strives to make every dental visit a positive and welcoming experience. At Coburg Dental Group, he finds great fulfillment in treating families and witnessing the positive impact on patients throughout their dental journey. Brandon enjoys all aspects of dentistry, with particular interests in restorative dentistry and root canal treatment. He takes pride in combining these skills to save teeth and help patients achieve a healthy, confident smile. Passionate about continuing education and advancing in his field, Brandon actively serves on several committees with the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch and is an Affiliate of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Additionally, he contributes to dental research as a Clinical Tutor at The University of Melbourne and serves as a preclinical demonstrator for dental students at La Trobe University.

Alexandra obtained a Certificate III in Dental Assisting at RMIT alongside an Advanced Diploma of Oral Health in Dental Hygiene in Adelaide. Aside from being an award-winning hygienist in Coburg, Alexandra has also undertaken management and administration positions here at Coburg Dental Group. She holds a decade’s worth of clinical experience and insight under her belt, enabling her to perform a wide array of diverse treatment options ranging from routine examination and radiographs for thorough removal of cavities. Her specialty as a practicing dental practitioner lies in geriatric and special needs dentistry. Lastly, Alexandra remains up to date with cutting-edge dental practices through her affiliation with the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia.

Elle graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2012 with a Bachelor of Oral Health. She worked as an Oral Health Therapist in both the public sector and at a private specialist pediatric clinic for several years. Elle has been an active member of the Australian Dental and Oral Health Therapy Association (ADOHTA) holds executive positions including vice president and publicity officer. Elle returned to university to complete her Diploma of Education at ACU in 2015. Elle then worked as a secondary school teacher (focusing on science and biology) before having some time off to have her three young children. Elle and her husband also own a personal training studio, so in her spare time, she loves to keep fit and play netball.
