Dr Rumana Masum is the Principal Dentist of Your Dentist Darwin with more than 15 years of clinical experience in her field with a keen interest in public health and patient centred care. She is well known as a gentle and friendly dentist among her peers and patients. Dr. Rumana recognises the barriers in accessing dental care in the community and always dreamt of providing more for the community she belongs to by utilising the knowledge and skills acquired through her extensive careers. She has worked as a dentist in Darwin in both public and private arena, mentored final year dental students of James Cook University and University of Queensland, before deciding to start her own ‘Your Dentist Darwin’ with a vision to change the stereotype associated with dentistry. Dr Rumana has invested much of her time, effort and expenses to travel within Australia and overseas to further her studies in the field of general and complex restorative, cosmetic dentistry and Dental Implants. She has attained her Graduate Diploma in Dental Implants from James Cook University. The cumulative training has inspired her to push the boundaries of excellence in diagnosing and thinking out of the box to provide options to his patients to help achieve the results they desire, nevertheless, to mention, to be innovative. Dr Rumana also has an artistic eye for creating a beautiful and natural smile. One of her greatest rewards is helping people overcome dental anxiety, especially when she gets to change her patients’ lives and confidence through dentistry. Her life mission is to help as many people achieve a beautiful, healthy and natural smile that they are proud of. Dr. Kamal is a General Dentist and well known as a gentle and friendly dentist among his patients. He has a wide range of experience and expertise in every aspect of dentistry and have more than 14 years of post-graduate clinical experience. He moved to Australia in 2007 and fell in love with Northern Territory where he started his dentistry career with Oral Health Services NT and provided services to its clients in various regional and remote clinics. Dr Kamal has a warm and friendly approach to each patient ensures a comfortable and personal experience. He understands anxiety is a normal response for many people when contemplating a visit to a dentist, and he takes great pride in providing gentle, calming care that makes dental treatment less stressful and even reduces those fears permanently. Dr Kamal is a dedicated, skilled professional with experience in the general fields of dentistry and has a interest in aesthetic dentistry. He believes in the philosophy – “Education never ends”. Hence, he full-heartedly attends routine professional development courses nationally and internationally to update his knowledge and skills and nevertheless to mention, to be innovative. Dr Kamal is married and has two young children; he enjoys spending his free time with family and friends.
