Dr Taylor is a specialist in Bariatric (weight-loss) and Laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery. He has performed over 5,000 weight-loss procedures (with zero mortality) since 2004. Committed to education, he is actively involved in teaching other doctors, nurses and medical students involved with the University of Sydney.

Dr Taylor is a full member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Obesity Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand, International Federation of Surgery for Obesity, and Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. He the primary author of a number of scientific and research papers that have been presented at leading international congresses and published in respected medical journals.
Dr Taylor attended the University of Sydney and graduated with honours and the Robert Craig prize in Surgery. He undertook his training in General Surgery at Sydney’s Royal North Shore hospital before embarking on 3 years of further specialist training in Bariatric, Laparoscopic and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery in Queensland and in the United States. His training in obesity surgery has covered all of the major operation types, including complex revisional procedures, and has focused strongly on providing holistic multi-disciplinary patient aftercare support in order to achieve maximum results.
